This church has a visiting priest once a week and has some unique brightly painted frescoes. There are also a lot of stray cats there. ... Shameful. We stopped in Sparta on our way out of town and explored the completely abandoned site a bit. The only souls in the area were a handful of Greek construction workers. We imagined ourselves in Spartan times protecting our fellow Spartans by keeping watch on the hill overlooking the surrounding landscape for miles. WINE LIST: The restaurant has both local wine and bottled. Half a kilo of local wine comes in a carafe and costs 4.00. The wine list has multiple brand names of popular wineries. The cheapest costs 20.00 euros and the most expensive one is at 35.00.

... being so clever booking a place in the mountains- we were sure it would be cooler, but as we drove up the winding track to the house in the evenings the temp in car would go up and up, only 3 or 4 degrees but you felt the difference. Owners told us when they bought the place estate agent told them it was 10 degrees cooler up there in the summer.

Kalamata is where the olives come from ( not sure why just Kalamata as olive groves cover Greece) but they are definitely ...

... and sat by the shower. Kelly found it dead in the morning in the shower and got rid of it. Hover, I am kind of creeped out to use the washroom in the middle of the night now and Kelly stages the washroom by keeping the door closed as we believe they are coming in through the vent to the garage. Anyways, last night I went downstairs and opened the washroom door, turned on the light and a medium sized (very fast) cockroach scurried out of the bathroom towards the kitchen ...
