Nice, but for the little ants

This is a large, spacious shiny place where everything seems to be set on a grand scale. The rooms are clean and spacious, the buffet is extensive, and the spa and pools - yes there is more than one - are outstanding. Our only complaint is the tiny ants in our room. There aren't a lot of them and they truly are tiny but it would be nicer if there were none.

Quiet comfortable and quiet rooms with a balcony, free wifi, and modern rooms and bathrooms. Our had a view of the Adriatic. Breakfast buffets are extensive and delicious as is their dinner buffet. Hotel layout is strange and the lobby appears a bit sterile but apart from that we highly recommend it and would stay here again.

We all slept well, though we did have an early wake-up this morning. After checking out, we were to have our formal tour of the city of Split this morning. As we were finishing breakfast in the hotel, a long and steady stream of incredibly beautiful young women started to stream into the restaurant. We were walking out at the time, and the sheer …

K and I had visited Dubrovnik for a long weekend way back in 2003, while we were living in Vienna. K's cousin Allison and Ann came to visit, with their daughter Abby, who is a few months younger than Anna. They stayed with Anna while we took a weekend trip, and then we watched Abby, while they went to Salzburg. Certain parts of that trip remained …

The beaches are a little rocky, but not too bad, and the water was surprisingly colder than in Split! Swim, relax, people watch - it was a good day.

Got to the walls about 5:30 and they were pretty quiet, which was perfect, and the sun was also starting to go down which provided some nice lighting. That took about an hour and got some nice photos of the city.

... months and continually shelled the city and fired mortar rounds from the hills overlooking it. You can still see the damage to some of the buildings and the paving stones from these attacks. Most houses in Dubrovnik sustained some damage – generally the roofs were destroyed. After the war they restored the roofs with tiles that look fairly similar to the old ones but are made of modern materials. ...
