Lynn and I decided to give the Lake one more try before we head down into the southwest at the end of March.

We got here in mid-afternoon and saw that there had been about four inches of new snow at the place. With all of the freeze-up problems we had last trip, I suggested that we get all things up and running before we unloaded. We did just that. ... While he was gone a fierce thunderstorm battered the rig. Bless his heart, he drove back to the park through sheets of cold, driving rain. We put away wet food and were thankful that our rig weighed close to 30,000 pounds and wouldn't blow over! We were on our way the next morning in cooler temperatures and sunny skies.

The air is a bit smokey up here today, but it's in the mid-seventies and pleasant. Lynn and I hiked a bit over three miles this morning. Lots of folks are moving around, leaving, coming and just moving.

I decided to take a break from skiing and walk this morning. My right wrist is a bit tender, so a rest won't hurt. I saw the garbageman drive by already. Traffic-wise, that's about all we see in the winter during the week. I walked about a mile and a quarter and ironically, met up with the Snow Plower Guy. He remembered me from my earlier pleas to put the snow away from our entrance. Imagine that... We talked it over ...
