It was a great stay and just wonderful catching up. We had a farewell dinner at a lovely restaurant and the next day we said our farewells. We decided that seeing we had a little more time after selling our RV early we would take a trip to Bend, Oregon and catch up with a great couple we met when we stayed at Mesa Regal in Arizona.
For the first part of our drive towards Oregon we opted to once again drive on the Pacific Coast ...
... one should really try to miss. Yeah we know. We've all been in wind storms. Blah blah blah. The windstorms you've been in probably didn't include sand particles as fine as flour. The whole thing starts with the temperature going up 10 degrees very rapidly and then comes the wind. And it blows. And it blows. For more than 24 hours it blows. And when we say blow, we mean hard! However, they didn’t know who he was. Funny. We maxed out what we could do with the time we had!
... beach further down, maybe another trip.
The drive is wiggly and slow in the RV but the views are breathtaking. Very much like the Great Ocean Road but here you see the coast from the road for much more of the drive. We stop at a couple of viewpoints for photos and spot lots of pelicans playing in the sea at one of them.
Next stop is for lunch, and a wander, at the Elephant Seal Rookery. Beautiful beach that just happens to have hundreds of strange elephant ...
