I did some research on wineries on Foxen Canyon Road southeast of Santa Maria. I always thought Sideways was filmed around Napa and the Fess Parker Winery was located there, too, but they’re actually in the wine country south of Santa Maria. ... to set up my power woodworking tools. We also edged over 200' of ice plant that likes to over grow the road behind our house as well as caught up with whatever else needed attention on our 1.4 acres.

The plants in our gardens are in full bloom and growing like crazy- and so are the weeds. The lawns have come alive and require mowing about once a week. We could not leave our home without a spring cleaning!

... amazing …….I had Budweiser, Don Black Malibu and Coke, kids had fizzy, enough to eat for our dinner then they went back a couple doors down to the room and watched telly in bed, Don and I stayed on and had couple more drinks $4.00 each (so cheap) and talked to several of the locals that were there, its so nice and normal here and feels like home, retired to our room around 9.30pm and had a good sleep, feeling tired after big days full noise since we left ...

... to discover what was so popular over there. We ended up walking around & buying some tasty pastries & some small gifts for Tuffy & Dont.

We found a scary big bust of Hans Christian Andersen in a museum of sorts & a bookstore kind of. Overall, it was nice but I don't think I'd go there again on purpose.

We then decided we hadn't driven enough so we headed home. It was a fun but short trip.
