... When we finished at the castle, we headed into San Luis Obispo (SLO), more scenic views of the coast before we turned a little inland. We settled into the Motel 6, did some washing, banged on the wall to let the noisy people next door know we could hear them having sex and headed out locally for a quick meal before turning in for the night. Early start in the morning to get to Six Flags Magic Mountain for opening time at ...

... Tip Sandwiches from 3 different places while here. It was great sharing this unique food find with the boys and Blossom.
We did a day trip to Morro Bay. We got to see Morro Rock through the fog and eat fish/chips and clam chowder for lunch. (Blossom who will eat nothing which lives in water, had a BLT)

... Obispo county is a great little place, not sure if it is the happiest place on earth or even the fourth happiest but it "sure is nice". Would definitely stop off in Pismo, Shell or Grover Beach if ever we were passing this way again. Tomorrow morning we head further up Highway One and really get to the most scenic part of our journey. Can't wait, it will be so exciting.

    Carmel, here we come.................

... selling stuff you don't need but want. We ate out twice at the most expensive restaurants suddenly craving someone else to cook for us.

On the recommendation of a lovely shop owner who sold us some rather pricey ocean body scrub (to do our feet - seriously wearing flip flops does nothing for the tootsies) we stopped off from highway one to Cambria for breakfast. She compared it to Cornwall. Sorry lady, not that impressed with Cambria - vanilla. Onwards to Highway 1 and THE BIG ...

... the grounds. Absolutely worth the stop. Apparently Charley Chaplin and Carey Grant were frequent visitors to the ranch! We then headed north yet again to get some lunch and stopped off at an elephant seal colony along the way (very smelly!). By this point we figured we most likely weren't going to reach our intended destination, and pulled into the next camp site. However it, and the next very fully booked! Right now we are camped ...
