We left Arata early due to warnings about construction delays on route 299. We had to be in Chico before 4 for the brewery tour at Sierra Nevada.
The route we took (299) was a great road for the bike, but the construction delays were a bit of a downer. I liked several of the small towns we rode through, especially Weaverville.
We made it to Chico by 1:30 and checked into the hotel to get ready for the tour.

thank GOD I didn't settle for the first RV site I found on the Internet for Oroville. I pulled into a place and it was a mobile home park with a few dumpy RV sites sprinkled in. It was very scary so instead of being miserable I reached out to my friend Google, and found a place right down the road on the feather river - River reflections, RV park and campground. It was fun to wake up to a field, right next to us, full of horses, riders and horse trailers. I must admit that it put my cats' litter box to shame though, lol. But we saw some really beautiful horses.
