... to take the side trip to the Hoh Rain Forest. When we reached the Rain Forest Entrance, it was only 18.5 miles to the Visitors Center, so why not? The road to the Visitors Center was awesome! It twisted and turned, uo and down everywhere. I don't think there was ever a straight stretch the entire 18.5 miles. As we were driving to Westport today we saw many cranberry bogs along the highway -- cranberries are harvested in the fall, but a few are just starting to turn color. ... 20 miles away for Sunday night.

I drove 280 miles today, that is about the limit of what I want to do. Tomorrow will be another 250 mile day but it should be doable. Especially since it will be Sunday and the traffic should be minimal through the metropolitan areas.

We are having a great adventure. Seeing so many things and hooking up with old friends. Life is good!

... For breakfast we had omelets, lunch was mostly deli sandwiches and salads and dinner was always seafood.

We went on beach walks, relaxed on the back deck and Jacob studied for boards. The only time we had the TV on was to watch Sleepless in Seattle. We thought it was fitting since we were on our way there; I was excited because Jac kept saying how cool it would be to sleep in a houseboat – little did he know the surprise I had planned the following day! ...
