          Heading Out Again

... the Philippines, but nothing came clear, nothing was so compelling that I felt excited about rushing to confirm the months I'd be gone, or to book flights. I did pay for expediting my new passport, but that turned out to be wasteful. So, rather than act for the sake of just going somewhere, just escaping, I waited until I was sure about what I wanted to do, and the winter simply happened and drew me along with it.

... awesone, by a large river - and off the trail. The ground was soaking wet, but the new MSR NX3 did not allow anything in! Finally a dry happy to be rid of the Big Agnes UL 3!! Woke up late, headed back to the town, to eat breakfast....and after eating breakfast, the bike would not start! A local repair shop was nice enough to charge up the battery for us, and I disconnected the front head light - to save battery life. The local guys directed me to a ...

Happy August!!! Last night Mark and I went to a happy hour with Mark's coworkers. It was so fun to put a face to the name with everyone he talks about at night and I enjoyed their love of the outdoors! We were getting the hard sell from the CEO to stay forever by convincing me that I would love snowmobiling in the winter and we made plans to go rafting with another couple in a few weeks. While I couldn't see us living here in January, I definitely ...

You know that cold sweat that builds up when you are completely tense and expecting things to go bad any second? As the countdown to my right started, I had already been white knuckling the steering wheel and sweating away for about 45 minutes. Beyond that 45 minute mark, the countdown continued along the lines of:

          3.4 kms
          5 minutes
          1 hr 34 minute walk
          2.7 kms
          4 minutes
          1 hr 12 minute walk

          Came for a week...stayed longer

          ... br> Such a great meal!

After deciding to stay longer we drove back out to Stonington, this time to purchase lobster from him. After packing us up again, and us insisting we pay for them this time, he took ...
