      ... awesone, by a large river - and off the trail. The ground was soaking wet, but the new MSR NX3 did not allow anything in! Finally a dry night.....so happy to be rid of the Big Agnes UL 3!! Woke up late, headed back to the town, to eat breakfast....and after eating breakfast, the bike would not start!       First thing this morning, the three J's went on the beach to check it out. They found lots of hermit crabs, and constructed a playground for them. They were sad to have to let them go, but not as sad as they would have been if they had brought them into the car and had them die there.

      ... cut through Maine instead of returning down the same uninteresting highways through New Brunswick and Quebec. This worked out well as our route took us away from the interstate, down country roads and gave us a glimpse into life in this little known state.

      Tonight we're staying at a HoJo on the outskirts of Bangor before heading further west tomorrow. As of right now the next destination is still up in the air.
