Monaco: The best of it all in one little country
Monaco was exciting! The landscape was unlike anything I've ever seen. The roads were narrow and winding and fun to drive, the food was simple and complex, the city was quaint and extravagant, full of nature and technology... Monaco is a contradiction.

Day 16 - The Monte Carlo
... per item not load and that would cost like a weeks accommodation to have clean clothes. We had afternoon tea of macarons on the wharf at the beach. The French man at the macaron place got confused because meg and I ordered after the boys and he said 'I thought the guys bought enough for four' hehe no. Meg an I got three each. We return to the ancestral manse
... cones and stopping suddenly to look in a shop window, blocking the narrow way. We revisited the old church at the highest point in the village. Then we tracked down the shop of our German friend Giesela, proprietress of Les Trois Etioles. It had moved to another part of the village, but the fabulous home-made liquors were alive and well. Carole and I toasted little glasses of fig liquor, which was beyond scrumptious.

Auf den Spuren des "Parfums"
... suchen um mal schwimmen zu gehn. Kurz vor St. Raphael werden wir auch fündig und wir geniessen die Ruhe am roten Strand - da es doch schon später Nachmittag ist sind wir fast die einzigen Badegäste ...
Danach gehts wieder Richtung Nizza - Zwischenstopp bei "Subways" :-) und dann Abendessen am Balkon im Hotel .... Mal schaun was wir morgen noch unternehmen werden.... die "Bouillabaisse" fehlt mir noch ...

After another little siesta we headed off to Gourdon again and made the winding climb to that high village. We really have enjoyed coming up to this village as we had a good stroll, taking in the views again and buying a couple of fairly 'clichéd' Provencal gifts for some friends. Well you have to don't you.
We BBQ'd again that evening after going back to the supermarket for supplies. ...
