Caroline and I visited Grasse ~15 years ago and remembered the Fragonard perfumery, in pride of place at the head of the old town. [more words to follow] After a rainy and chilled out morning (including 'church at home' - recommend the Bill Hybels baptism talk from 22/6/14 at www.media.willow creek.org) we headed into Grasse and the International Perfume Museum. Really impressive with lots of interaction (inc smells of course) and quirky exhibits to keep us ...

... The old part of town is very compact and you can see most of the significant sites in a couple of hours. There is a daily market held in one of the squares, or places as they are called in France. Some of the fresh fruit and vegetables for sale were just incredible. I couldn't help but compare what I was seeing to what we get back home. When you can buy fresh produce like this why would you go to a supermarket? Probably explains why we've only seen a couple ...

... look around the city ourselves, but realised that we would have to ask the tourist office where the new departure point was situated The matter was soon cleared up for us , so off we went again to give it another try. Better luck this time, it was a 45 minute ride through the city and gave us a good idea where everything was and gives you your bearings as well. The ride itself was fantastic and very informative and of course ...

... there was a constant stream going the other way. There were hundreds of army vehicles, police cars and police motorbikes in groups, pairs and single riders. Most of them had their blue lights flashing, and some had sirens on. It must have been all the cops from all of France, and there was a decent amount of the army as well. There weren’t just army trucks either- there were even things as grand as tanks and mobile radar ...
