... of the Gendarmes (Jean Dams) which are the Police in France. He inadvertently ended up on a toll road on his bike on the road home (no slip or side road to go around) and set off the toll gate/alarm. Then had to wait for the Gendarmes to come and collect him as he couldn't go forward or back on his bike. And here I was thinking he was 'pulling the ****' when he came in the front door!

Having perched up in the Italian Riviera for the night we headed 20mins west to the French version....settling in a sweet beachside camp just outside Nice. En route we stopped by Monaco. Strolled along the marina past multi-million dollar yatch after multi-million dollar yatch. We followed the F1 track though the tunnel and up to the famous Fairmont hairpin ending up outside the legendary Monte Carlo Casino. Judging by the calibre of cars parked ...
... we are very pleased with what we saw. Enjoyed a very late lunch, ( yes Rick had a steak )another little look around and by then it was time to catch the bus back to the park. The bus driver gave us a little scenic tour as well, he drove us through a little village which is situated higher than here again. We did intend to hike up there to have a look, but he saved us the walk.
A fantastic day once again and it was sunny as well.

After another little siesta we headed off to Gourdon again and made the winding climb to that high village. We really have enjoyed coming up to this village as we had a good stroll, taking in the views again and buying a couple of fairly 'clichéd' Provencal gifts for some friends. Well you have to don't you.
We BBQ'd again that evening after going back to the supermarket for supplies. ...
