... the jokester that she is, took us via the Circuit des Gorges du Loup (Circuit of the Loup Gorges), where the Loup River has cut it's way through the pre-Alps, to the Loup plain and finally out to the Mediterranean. I'm so glad that she did because it meant we saw the most magnificent gorges, rock formations and waterfalls, which were totally unexpected and an added bonus to our day. ... our surprise when we finally emerged the weather had abated.

We could finally complete our romantic promenade along the front, with Ali playing tour guide, by virtue of having visited once ten years ago and not accurately remembering the experience.

Nice seemed very pretty if somewhat bland, but it was rather hard to tell when getting soaked through, perhaps another trip later!

On to the French coast! We spent two days in Nice relaxing on the beach and swimming in the Mediterranean was sooo beautiful and relaxing after the craziness that was Barcelona. Unfortunately I had anther stream of bad luck here, since I woke up one day with a puffy eye that made me look like Quasimodo and had to wear sunglasses until it returned to normal. ... we are very pleased with what we saw. Enjoyed a very late lunch, ( yes Rick had a steak )another little look around and by then it was time to catch the bus back to the park. The bus driver gave us a little scenic tour as well, he drove us through a little village which is situated higher than here again. We did intend to hike up there to have a look, but he saved us the walk.
A fantastic day once again and it was sunny as well.

... welcome as you sometimes feel you are not doing that well some days.

After another little siesta we headed off to Gourdon again and made the winding climb to that high village. We really have enjoyed coming up to this village as we had a good stroll, taking in the views again and buying a couple of fairly 'clichéd' Provencal gifts for some friends. Well you have to don't you.

We BBQ'd again that evening after going back to the supermarket for supplies. ...
