We just finished the tour du Mont Blanc - 180km, 3 countries, 9 days! Also some sore feet by the end...
actually it was probably some of the nicest hiking we have ever done - stayed in some lovely hotels and mountain refuges, ate amazing food each day, good wine each night!

Hairpins, hairpins, hairpins that was the order of the day climbing this little gem just outside of Ugine. The Col De L'Arpettaz is the most enjoyable climb I have ever done. 16km of beauty on a small backroad. The only reason the tour has not ridden this is due to how narrow it is. Towards the summit is is not much more that the width of a standard bike path.

Semnoz is a classic climb and the back way via Col de Leschaux is on quiet roads only broken every now and then by the chorus of cow bells. It's a mix of forest and pasture with some views to Lac Annecy and the surrounding mountains on the early slopes.
