I am about to head to Toulouse to get my plane to fly to Paris and then change planes to fly to Athens, arriving there at 10:45 pm local time on Friday - ten hours later than Seattle. I took a last walk in La Fage this morning, packed up my stuff (too much not clothing stuff!). ...

Wednesday Nancy and I went to Castelnaudry to meet her French friend Annie. We walked together along the Canal du Midi, saw barges tied up as well as moving along the Canal. Afterwards we stopped and had a drink and a pastry in the town. Annie speaks excellent English - and Nancy's French is very good. She describes it as 80%. On the way home we stopped in Mirapoix to get some flowers to take to our dinner hosts. (It is ...

On the way back to the car we passed the one man band (in the photo below) - he is from Scotland - and purchased bread and cheeses, ...

After a refreshing rain last night  (the weather has been great, sunny and warm)  I started the morning with a brisk walk on the back roads around La Fage.  In an hour only saw one car but beautiful sky and hay fields. Shortly after 11 Nancy, Carl and I left to drive about an hour SE to Aragon to La Bergerie, where I was treated to an elegant birthday Sunday dinner.    It is a ...

After our very full day yesterday I was happy to be a bit low key - go into Mirapoix to the Super U (a smaller Fred Meyer-like) to get some groceries. On the way there we detoured to the village of Vals where there is a church built into a huge rock. It is an amazing feat of construction - small but all rock and stone with a tunnel of stairs at the entrance - more work for my quads! While there we saw a poster advertising a free concert of ...
