... to be pretty nice. Around the hotel lobby, there were pictures of some of the unique sites of the region. Since our dinner reservation wasn't until later that night, we explored the area to pass the time. Inland from the city were a few villages that had been built around the 14th Century. The villages were a cluster of homes made entirely of stone. We had seen some of these little huts around the highway, but the further we travelled the sighting increased and ...

With very full bellies, we set out to explore this unique ...

... site of Alberobello, as well as the nearby hill top towns of Locortondo and Martina Franca, and the sassi of Matera (also a designated World Heritage site) in the neighboring region of Bascilicata. I also wanted to see the Grotte di Castellana, considered one of the most impressive in Italy, and was hoping to do some of this by bike!. There were a few other places on the list that I optimistically thought I might get to but it did ...

... plumber had been there the night before, but only to fix a small drip, not this massive leak!

Still no word back from Divo about the parking or how he wanted us to leave the apartment and keys (doors were all deadlocks), we decided we should make a move. Our bags packed and the keys left on the table inside the apartment (unlocked) and we walked off towards the car hoping to find somewhere to eat breakfast on the way. We found a lovely ...
