On Thursday we took the 6:45am sapsan train from Moscow to Vladimir, a journey of 1hr and 45 minutes, from there we caught the local bus to Suzdal, a 35km trip which cost 72 roubles (less than€1). The local bus terminates at Suzdal bus station which is on the outskirts of town, but for a further 14roubles we were able to continue on that bus into town.

Two hundred and twenty km north-east of Moscow is Suzdal, a small town with a big history and a big attraction for tourists. For us, getting here involved a frenetic trip through the Moscow metro where changing lines required a lot of asking Russian only speakers for help, pointing at maps, getting on and off trains, going up and down really long escalators, ...

Wanda is just fine and we are v pleased that the tyres don't seem to be going down too quickly and the engine oil doesn't need a top up just yet. Also very pleased that we have this wonderful loom band keyring which was kindly made by Eleanor and Verity for our ...
