... when she’s on holiday. Holyrood Palace has been the official British residence in Scotland for the monarchs since the 16th century when David I, King of Scots built it in 1128. I found it interesting that Queen Elizabeth II is known to people in Scotland as Queen Elizabeth I because the Queen Elizabeth I that we know never ruled Scotland so to them, she doesn’t count.

... hotel and had a celebration drink before we headed back out for dinner. We went to wetherspoons for fish Friday but they had no fish as we were deciding what to get the fire alarm went off so everyone had to excavate even though there was no fire until the fire brigade arrived. So we wandered down to another place which turned out to be cheaper and much nicer. All in all a great day. Saturday (25th) after much research there doesn't seem like there is much to do ...
