This morning we woke up bright and early and headed over to Universal Orlando. We wanted to squeeze as much as possible in as it is an expensive park( you have to buy the fast pass for $100 per person on top of your park pass!). Today was our Universal Studios day. This is always slightly scary since we leave Disney property and have to deal with the real world. We called for a taxi, which arrived right on time. We were at Universal within 20 minutes. We sort of have a tradition here. We always ride the Mummy first. Today, we rode it twice in a row. This is a great ride. Lots of fire and mist. You go through so much mist that your face is usually wet by the end. This is very nice on hot days like today. ...

... weather for it, it was great to see it happen, started with a sunset-like glow on the southern horizon, then up came the red exhaust flare and away it went, trailing a tail of white smoke like a vapour trail. The interesting thing is we could see it for a full 8-10 minutes as it powered away to the eastern sky, must have been halfway to Africa by then I guess!
