Urban Hotel is a good choice and reasonably priced should you need to stay in and around the St Kilda area. Rooms are small but clean, staff are friendly and helpful and the location in St Kilda itself is excellent.

... the rules. It was interesting, and a unique experience to get to see the teams play in the 100,000 capacity stadium. The MCG held the Olympic games back in 1956 (I think...). Since then the stadium had been updated. It was incredible sitting three row's up in front of one of the best cricket teams in the world (Australia) in one of the world's largest sporting arenas.
