Perhaps it's my fault. After years of wishing for a proper winter in Tokyo, it's finally [almost] come to pass! Whereas there is normally a single decent snowfall every February (except for last year, when it surprised everyone by coming in January), we have so far been blessed with two full days of snow.

The first one was on the 8th of this month, and it was by far the best snow I've ever seen in Tokyo. The flakes were small and ...

Woke up early and took myself off for a relax in the onsen. It was a beautiful day and once everyone was up we hurried to get down to the lake to do our boat cruise. when ...

Being with Hiroaki was a good treat seeing he could sum up the history into short anecdotes which sufficed for the time. He went over the praying ordeals with me and let me try it out myself bowing once, clapping twice throwing a coin into a large rectangular wooden sink and only then ...

... was astounding. The smells and colours were a moveable feast, in the words of someone famous. There were things and fish I didnt recognise, I didn't dare ask though. Once I felt I had wandered around a few times and soaked it all in, I travelled to Odaiba. This is the reclaimed land I visited last Tuesday, the Miraikan is closed on Tuesdays though, second attempt. I walked to the Miraikan from the station and something pretty funny happened. I entered, receiving a ...
