Very very cold, but largely uneventful, aside from Charlotte walking into a lamppost, we arrived at the Osaka Aquarium shopping complex, which thankfully was very quiet. ... cool building consisting of two 40-story towers that connect at their two uppermost stories, with bridges and an escalator crossing the wide atrium-like space in the center. The building features a rooftop observatory, and what is called The Floating Garden Observatory. (I'm not sure where the garden bit comes from because there's not a plant in sight up there). Apparently, there's an underground market in the basement that is supposed to ...

... expecting or elements of the crazy culture that we could not wait to get a slice of….no, we got land sickness. Seemingly after 48 hours on the high seas we developed sea legs that no longer worked correctly on land, brilliant.

So we arrived at our hotel and dropped our bags (annoyingly Japanese hotels have a check in time of 4pm, rude) and swayed our way to Osaka castle. Given the extreme temple phobia we had developed from so many sights in ...
