... we sailed on for a short stop at Saipan, which was one of
the prettiest little islands so far. We did a bus trip, so far the
only “bus” trip we have done with the ship. Some of our fellow
cruisers are very bossie and rude to the local people, one of our
fellow travelers suggested that maybe they should have stayed home.

... as being the phonetic spelling of the Japanese word for 'good'. Well it might be but he did not understand it and thought I was correcting him and that my name was really Jose ...which he insisted on calling me all the way to the subway ... so Sayonara Jose.

I have come unstuck a little with this politeness and obedience thing. I have already, on face book, referenced the bowing ... apparently there is no need for me to bow back thus starting off the infinite bowing ...

... and we took the train there.

found out that it was actually Osaka Main Station, we walked , people watched and then finally decided to just take the train to the waterfront for the sunset. As we took the train, we could see the sun set amidst Osaka skyline, saw Universal studio from across and then finally stopped at the end and just walked to the water front. Lovely sunset, watched the ships passed and then osaka lit up. And then , we walked back to the MRT.

... amazing how he did that, and it must have taken a long time to memorize where to stand and where to hold your hands when you 'hold' Woody Woodpecker. Sadly enough I was not allowed to take pictures of this show, but I included some other ones about Universal Studios. Btw, the guys you see on some of the pictures are a couple of Australian guys I met in Kyoto and then by pure chance also met at the subway station in Osaka.

First day in Kobe was a hectic one from the beginning. We had to check out from the hotel first thing in the morning (because we booked a cheaper place for the rest of the stay in Kobe) and then run to the conference venue. Our first hotel provided a free breakfast, so we took a full advantage of that, stuffing ourselves with omelet, cutlets, sausages, miso soup ...
