    ... the magnificent Grossglockner drive we head to Hallstatt a small authentic Austrian village perched on the edge of the lake. Pop 720 and the men dress in leather pants and Austrian ladies look like dolls in their traditional dresses……. except for the 3000 Japanese and American tourists it’s Austrian Fairy land.     ... churches we have been seeing, no high baroque, over the top alter pieces. The second church had the onion comb and sad up high. It had two sets of paintings on the outside ( very noticeable when approaching the town from the ferry). Inside it had two very ornate alter pieces, lovely stain glass, some very old paintings just below the organ and on some seats near the alter. What makes this church special is the 'charnel house'.
