... we got, the more the haze reappeared. Had not missed it while in Austria. Walked to our apartment which is near the old city walls and arena. It is modern in decor after a recent refurbishment. All mod cons and flash. Went to a restaurant suggested by our host, and were lucky with our timing as we virtually went straight in. By the time we were finished people were outside in the street having drinks while waiting their turn. No wonder it is popular with the locals, pizzas were ...

Occasionally there would be an opening in the right side of the lane providing a view and access to the lake. ... building, set high on the hill overlooking the lake so we had beautiful views from our balcony. Sunday 12th October No bus trips today, all on foot. First half hour was flat, then we hit the hill. Up 530 m in a zigzag through lovely forest. A tough climb and some of it through fog so unfortunately did not get the great views we were hoping for. Did get above the fog at the top and it was impressive looking down on the fog in the ...

We visited the "man" and "women" island. Before we entered the palace with the timed guided tour, we visited Konig Ludwig II Museum. It was actually very nice, especially we knew something about his life after visiting the famed Newschwanstein. The museum had many pictures and even Ludwig II's death mask and photo. ...
