... the ramp of the Vatican museums while she started to explain the grounds and the history behind it. We then walked through the grounds as she explained roman history and learnt things we never knew about. The tour then took us through the galleries and corridors of the museum, amazing tapestries, artwork and paintings were able to be seen. Raphael's rooms were next and our tour guide explained the importance of the paintings and artwork. Then we ...

We got our Art and Arch tests back that day, and while I didn’t do too poorly it was bad enough that I didn’t take a nap. I went straight from lunch to the library and stayed there until mass. Mass to dinner to Monday night meeting to bed.

Tuesday was a little more eventful, however ...

... people and places excursion. Today's lecture was given by Michael the RA about emperor Augustus at the Ara Pacis. We went over the life of Augustus, quite the complicated life at that and saw the altar he had constructed during his time. Today's lecture was easier to listen to than usual. First I find it helpful that it's given by someone a little closer to my level (no PHD required). In addition the Ara Pacis is in a very ...
