... forest. A sign told us that some of the trees were up to 600 years old. Up and over another saddle and we were heading back down towards the campsite. It was a tough walk and we decided that tomorrow’s walk would only have one steep ascent rather than two. We estimated that we had climbed approximately 1300 metres in total over the day.

After he left the balcony we went on a walking tour with yesterday's guide starting at the piazza Navona , was full of restaurants and featured a Bernini fountain representing the four continents, Europe, Asia, Africa and America. The trip to Tivoli rounded off a fantastic 10 days in Italy. What a great holiday it's ...

I have been on too many walks now with John where I have agreed to carry on regardless and whilst we have always survived, it hasn’t been the best of experiences.

We did find markers and carried on to the top of the mountain ridge. We hadn’t seen another sole all morning and I imagined it was ...

... out to an Irish american pub, Scholars, to enjoy some nachos and watch the Notre Dame vs. Princeton game. Thankfully, we won by the skin of our teeth with a little over a minute left on the clock. We met a couple of Irish men who quickly asked me if I was Irish, because apparently I look like an Irish lady. I was able to find a little bit about Ireland and where to and not to go, it was nice to learn.

Tuesday a large group of us went to Scholars as well ...
