Cap. 1 Un inesperado mensaje

Eh, Toro, Eh! The Running of the Bulls

... began when I tried to go to Born to get a good deal on a white dress shirt to wear to Pamplona because in Pamplona you’re supposed to wear white (I found one for a Euro).

Happy with my dress shirt and up on my luck, I figured I’d try to find pants as well. After some time searching unsuccessfully, I stopped in a smoky little hole in the wall for a sandwich. There, I ended up making friends with the folks hanging out (who were all old ...

More Random Notes to Kill Time

... of the Bulls Festival: The festival surprisingly had a lot of family activities. There seemed to be different types of people there. The drunken-Sangria stained white clothes people everywhere, and families with nice white dockers and red sweaters over their shoulders. They had games and kids activites all around the city so it was a festival for all. Not just the frat boys looking to get lit in public. Though there was a lot of that going on.

A rainy day

We'll remember this stage for the amount of mud we accumulated in our legs. It was an awkward day, at least this stage was pretty easy but the beginning (a huge climb with a lot of mud).

We founded the main refuge in Estella newly renovated, clean, with all the facilities... a nice place where we met people from Italy, Germany and New Zealand , we decided to cook together a huge tipical spanish omelet!!! We also took a walk around beatiful Estella despite of the pain in our legs!
A short but unwell day to Pamplona

... In Sweeeeeden, this would not be allowed. Peter is quite keen on taking several video montages of him wandering the path, so we break every hour for 10 minutes to allow him to set up. We walk past Paulo, a Brazilian guy whom is travelling at his own pace and he goes a different path via the hills. Passing Zabaldica, we go over a spectacular medieval bridge and then alongside the Rio Arga and several families walking the other way past us. The path goes ...

No running and no bulls in Pamplona

... past heard the start of his explanation. He interrupted and explained that this house and the surrounding buildings were replica 16th century constructions erected in the 1960s! This man wasn't rude at all, he was actually quite humble and lovely. He stayed a while to further delight us with other bits of Pamplona history before continuing on his walk! What a contrast to Marcelo and Moira's negative opinion of the Navarrans! Before going to ...

Ils dorment n ...

Sangria, my best friend

... the run, took in a bull fight, which was quite hideous actually, but there is no point in complaining as it is part of their culture. Actually, the amazing part was seeing the nuns getting into it and being given some excellent home made tortilla by the Spanish people behind us. After the fight, we went and bought provisions. Beer for me and tetra packs of Don Simon Sangria for the girls. We went back to the campground in the ...
