Nein, das ist nicht der Fahrplanheini von Greyhound, sondern der gemeine Kerl, der einem dann das Leben schwer macht, wenn man es am wenigsten gebrauchen kann. Aber anyway, immerhin habe ich wieder 500 Kilometer zurückgelegt - bin aber immer noch in Florida, nämlich in Tallahassee.

We spent a very fast paced 3 days with our grandsons. We took them for the day on Sunday and anyone that has ever kept 3 little boys, 8, 7 and 6, know that is a tiring:)
We took them back to the camper for lunch and over to see the light house on St. Marks. There is a little hiking trail that the boys enjoyed. Overall a great visit. Also our oldest just got a house and we helped by keeping the boys away so they could paint the day away.
... the state. It's historic, scenic, and interesting to spend a day in Tallahassee..... then move on. Since we knew the RV couldn't fit downtown near the capital, we GPS'ed the local Walmart with a huge parking lot and some nice shade trees -- Kitty got to spend some of her time napping. We spent another night and paddled an uninspiring lake in a Floridian state park, then set off this morning heading east looking for something cool to do. The tourist brochures are full of lovely looking springs but due to flooding last week and more storms due they are all closed to swimming and real murky. We found a few hideous tourist beach towns, one of which was the film site of ...
... looked nice. I came to the end of the road and found why this area was a national preserve. There was an old fort here. A fort that had stood here in various forms since before the civil war in the 1860s. This fort was held by the Union for the entirety of the war. The confederates did shell the fort from the opposite bank but to very little effect. They just left them there.
