The first break of today was in a town called Charleston in South Carolina after about a 2 hour drive. Brayden gave us all about 3 hours to look around the town, get lunch and go shopping if we wanted to. Charleston is definitely one of the prettiest towns in America that we've seen behind Savannah which has beautiful buildings which look British. The main income for this town is through tourism but it also has one of the best streets for shopping in the United States ...
Well, I'm packed up and ready to go. In fact I'm currently sitting in the Raleigh airport awaiting my flight to JFK, which will then take me to Doha, Qatar,where I will meet up with Matt and Frida, then I THINK I have another layover in Singapore, and finally Bali. As far as packing goes that's pretty self explanatory, but I do want to mention a few things that I believe to be travel essentials. But first I'll talk about my interesting morning.

... beautiful campus. I was not sad to leave because this meant we were heading to the Durham Bulls stadium! We parked the vans and walked around to the stadium to only find out they were doing $20M worth of improvements on it and we could not get in. They have set up a temparory store that proved very hard to find but I was determined I was not leaving without a Lollygaggers tee shirt. We tracked it down only to find it was open ...
... counter and then fellow students and supporters joined in and took it in turns to sit at the stools. The end result was Woolworths changed their policy to let the blacks sit at the counter with the whites. But what got me was it appeared this did not come about because it was right but because the store was loosing money and they had to get people back in the store.
