... or go out of their way for you, even more so than Americans naturally are.

So, 409 miles South of New York, I'm staying the night in Lynchburg, Virginia. It has a nice, historic feel to it and a river for Oscar to have his morning swim in. I happily take up the offer from the reception staff of the hotel to babysit Oscar while I tuck into crab cakes and sirloin. Win win.

... cars on the road. No trucks or commercial vehicles are allowed on the road, so its basically only tourists on it. Its very cold as its nearly winter so very few people around. Still plenty of leaves left to fall.. so still plenty of colour. Higher in the mountains (where its colder) the trees are bare. So whereas Pennyslvania was more reddish orange, it is more yellow and black. Still looks good though.

Another nice, dry (touch wood) day on the road.

We took a very long walk along the Cedar Creek Nature Trail, taking in such sights as the Lace Falls and the Lost River
