We finally have made it back to the USA! It has been such a crazy day! We left at 3:30 AM on June 20th and arrived in Richmond at 10:45 PM on the same day. It has been such a whirlwind trip that I have had so much fun. I have met some many new friends and I feel like I will keep in touch with most of these group from the trip.
I know that it will be so difficult to get back on East Coast time, and I know it will take a few days. Anyway ...
... picked up, we filtered some water out of the stream.....oh yea, I had filled my Camel Back with 1.5 liters of water (it is a 3 liter Camel Back, so I am able to add water allcday and the ice cools it down ) last night, and put it in the freezer - ice cold water all day, and even at camp!! Around 2pm, I caught a lizard, he tried to run up a tree, but, he didn't run fast enough! After getting up the hill we ran into Mountain Momma, she is back on the trail and ...
... seen, and yet here I am, starting a journey to Australia.
Maybe it's a good thing to keep in perspective.
In either case, I've flown over America now, and I wait in L.A. to fly to Melbourne.
A 15ish hour flight by the way. (Maybe less, maybe more.)
I plan to keep my camera close at hand, so if I see any more spectacular views, I can take pictures of them on my own camera, instead of someone else's phone.
This place is located in Natural Bridge VA area. The place is huge and the animals are running wildly. Your car will need a good detailing afterward because of the drooling, the foods spilling, animals licking on the windows, everywhere basically. Everyone in my family had a blast from ...

So, 409 miles South of New York, I'm staying the night in Lynchburg, Virginia. It has a nice, historic feel to it and a river for Oscar to have his morning swim in. I happily take up the offer from the reception staff of the hotel to babysit Oscar while I tuck into crab cakes and sirloin. Win win.
