... The town is built on a hill up the top of a very big mountain. So the only way is down, that is until walking home of course! The restaurants were uninspiring so we ate at a grubby cafe serving parottha and dhall, stocked up on chocolate at the bakery and headed to see the main attraction - the lake in the middle of town.

At the Malabar Junction I was surprised to have a small thin slices of popadum (known here as papad) as an accompaniment to a Biryani. I took this to be part of the creativity at that restaurant, but no, I was surprised the next day to be eating with a local and given full size papads he crunched them up with his hand and mixed them with rice.
