Historical Traveler Reviews of Uniquestay Tallinn Hotel
A bit noisy
from hjcl
On the plus side ,the rooms are lovely- a lot of effort has gone in to the decor and it was great having Internet in the room.
But on the downside,it wasn't very easy to sleep at night because of
the traffic outside(we were on the main road). It'd be worthwhile asking for a room at the back if you like your zeds.
Wonderful place to stay!

Just returned from a trip to Tallin, and Uniquestay made it all the more enjoyable. There was a computer in the room with free internet access 24/7 and that was fabulous! We stayed in a double room with two twin beds, both of which were comfortable and the bathroom was quite spacious. They were extremely nice and helpful at the front desk. The buffet breakfast was nice because they had a variety of hot dishes, as well as the usual fair of cereal, yogurt and fruit.
A word of warning: if you arrive by train be very wary of taxis, unless Uniquestay has arranged a pick-up for you. Unfortunately, the reports that there are taxi scams in Tallin are true, as we were charged $50 for a ride from the station to Uniquestay. If you don't have a lot of luggage the hotel is actually a very easy 5-10 minute walk from the train station. And, even if the hotel does arrange taxi service to/from the airport or train station, it should not cost more than $20.
Lovely little hotel!

Well we arrived February 25th (-19 degrees!) and had requested an early check-in but our Zen room was not available so we went downstairs to the breakfast room and waited till 8am when supervisor arrived and we were immediately allocated our room (lady on reception when we first arrived was her 1st night working in hotel so not sure if she didnt know what to do or what!) lovely Zen room - little extras like robes and slippers and jacuzzi style bath. Hotel in nice location just bout 6mins to the old city square where a lot of bars/restaurants etc are. Lovely cobbled streets and plenty of bars and restaurants with good value drink & food. Really enjoyed selection - went to fab Mexican rest that night and 3 starters and 2main courses with 4 Margaritas only came to eur50. You can each cheaper than that there but still thought it was good value.
Staff in the hotel are really lovely and its an added bonus to get free internet access in each room - would def recommend this hotel to anyone.
Convenient location, Good value, Rooms a little cramped
from jokskot
We stayed here 18 to 20 February 2005.
Excellent location - only 5 minutes to Toopneia (Parliament, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Lutheran Cathedral, viewpoints etc)
Room warm well ventilated but rather small, barely space to get round bed - no space for suitcase except on upright chair. Wooden floor in bedroom - we found it essential to take off our snowy boots to avoid leaving wet foot prints all over the floor, but of corse this resulted in wet puddles where the snow had melted! Multichannel TV.
Bed very comfortable. Nice bathroom - walk in shower.
PC useful, but how do you clear the sites you've visited and can you be sure that it's secure if you're checking your financial affairs? Also although Mozilla is nice, MS Explorer is surely more widely used and might have been a better selection for the default browser.
Good breakfast - friedly staff at front desk and in breakfast cafe.
Front desk staff recommened eating at Peppersack and booked us a table.
This turned out to be a poor recommendation, so be wary!
Offers good value for money at €67 B& B for two per night
Uniquestay - great hotel & good location
from Slbazza
We stayed at this hotel in February 2005 & found it to be very good value for money - We got a great deal-around £40 (double room per night) + an additional £14 for a Zen room. As you have no doubt seen from their website, the hotel is very modern but it's still comfortable & warm. Not sure whether it's really worth paying the extra for the Zen room (tho the spa bath is fab!) - We went with friends & their Zen room (1st floor) was much bigger than ours (3rd floor) but I did get a look in a normal' double & looked just as good. Excellent location - less than 5 minutes to the old town centre. Would recommend this hotel. Staff helpful & friendly. Breakfast was good too - hot buffet.
Great Hotel!

I stayed at the Uniquestay back in May of this year, and can't recommend it highly enough! OK, so it still has a couple of rough edges to smooth out, but the place is stylish and modern and the staff are very friendly. A short walk up the hill across the road from the hotel will bring you to the walls of the old town - it couldn't be more convenient. The hotel has its own taxi service that will take you to/from the airport/harbour/wherever, and the restaurant downstairs does excellent food for next to nothing. I used the taxi service to meet me from the ferry from Helsinki and to take me to Tallinn airport, I ate two hearty meals in the restaurant and had several beers, all of which I charged to my room. My room bill at the end of my stay was so small, my bank account hardly missed the money!
Cool friendly and cheap !

A little out of the way but a good attempt at boutique styling. 24 free internet access and pc in room very impressive. Cheap and very friendly attentive staff. Highly recommended
Stylishly Different

Different but stylish and comfortable. A very clean decor with design highlights. My bathroom had a giant new spa bath. Internet access was freely available in the room.
Very peaceful despite being on the busy road that circles the old town. A short walk across a leafy park to the town walls. My window looked across at the spires and turrets at the centre of this beautiful city.
Unique boutique hotel

The room I had was incredibly small. Usually I don't mind this but I barely had room to stow my suitcase and then the bathroom door wouldn't even open and shut fully. I don't think all rooms are all like this and I would give more stars otherwise since everything else was fine. The decor was kinda cool and the double bed was comfortable. The computer with Internet access was as advertised although when everyone else was trying to use theirs at night, it slowed to a crawl. Breakfast buffet was good and staff was nice. The location is in a quieter area just a short walk from Old Town.
Boutique hotel on the Baltic

UniqueStay is one of the funkiest hotels I have ever stayed in. It's a small hotel of about 15 rooms, recently created in a older apartment building in a residential part of Tallinn , a pleasant walk across a park to charming old town if Tallinn. It's quite reasonably priced at about 88Euro including a good breakfast.
Cast aside any notions you might have about the former Soviet Union - while not luxurious the decor is very stylish and would appeal to anyone who likes *Wallpaper magazine. The staff are helpful, charming and as stylish as the decor. Best of all each room has a PC with unlimited internet access - something most business-class hotels in supposedly more advnace Western Europe have yet to manage !
