... Junko and Hiro fell in love with their Dutch bikes and are taking them home to Japan. The four of us hopped in a taxi picked up a few last minute things like Gerovital, sought after face creams from Romania. And I like the Jacobs velvet instant coffee. We also picked up goodies for lunch from the deli at CORA's.

After spending such a pleasant day in Bulgaria yesterday, I had almost decided that I was harboring out of date prejudices about countries in the former Soviet Bloc. Having been raised during the Cold War and lived through tales of the dissolution of the USSR, I must admit that I expected to find a lot of ugly gray buildings in countries with limited infrastructures that hadn't yet entered the 21st century, as least by western standards. ...

... in the dark but what a drive. All the way up the mountain and then twisting winding road down. A small car fire under our bonnet half way down but otherwise, an amazing drive.

We made it to the beach party before 10am and then chilled out under the cabanas, in and out the sea, catching up with the other teams.

Today, we are deciding where to head to next...maybe down the coast to Bulgaria for a night, or up to Moldova.....
