      Building up the miles

A travel blog entry by jwatson on Mar 25, 2015

... Co-ed and I decided to knock out another 6 miles over a mountain so we wouldn't have to do it the next day (Mooch was a ways behind us and ended up staying at the shelter with another hiker who's been going about the same pace we have, Seeker). This was both a great and a terrible idea. When we finished, we were so glad we didn't have to do it the next day, but it was probably too early to be doing so many miles and our ...

It was a clear area on top of a ridge with a view into a valley to the west where I could see the sunset. I couldn't pass it up, and I spent a relaxing evening eating dinner and enjoying the view before bed.

Spent Thanksgiving here. On Thanksgiving day we ate a buffet at Western Sizzler with 18 workers etc. from the campground, then on saturday the campground provided turkeys and everyone brought covered dishes and we all ate at the clubhouse.

... br> The next day, we hit the free coffee and ventured back up the mountain. It was a little hotter today, which was nice, but the rock got pretty toasty. We started on the same side as the day before and it was empty! It was wonderful. I taught Zev how to set up a top rope anchor the day before, so this time he did it and I watched. He did an excellent job! We all survived! Next, I proceeded to teach everyone how to repel, it was a blast. The asked me where I learned how to ...
