On somewhat of a whim we have decided to venture into Milan for the day. None of us have ever been here before, so its a new experience for all.

The day started beautifully with a large number of people Para-sailing and sailing about on Lake Como this morning. Very nice thing to wake up to. After breakfast we left this lovely place and, with our GPS friend made our way into Milano.

We know that there is no parking in the city centre, we also know ...

... and maybe a couple of other smaller vessels. Maybe it gets busier in summer proper? In any case, it felt kind of surreal to be on the water, in Italy, watching the world go by. Loved it.

    ... catching the next boat.

Lunch was in a pretty church courtyard but the food was quite average suggesting that due to the flocks of tourists there was no need to make an extra special effort. But it filled a hole as the saying goes and it was now nearly time to catch the next boat.

The second island, Isola Bella (which translates, Pretty Island) was…much prettier! It had a bit more ...

... I do my videoclip in front of a dramatic monument of a naked woman being carried off on a horse, dedicated to the "Soldiers of all the Wars"... a common way for Italy to honor its fallen without having to explain if they were fighting on the "right" side or the "wrong" side... And with that, I head to the train station, climb aboard the train, and rest my weary legs. Goodbye, Alps. Goodbye beautiful part of the world where culture and natural beauty blend so ...
