Day 16 - The Monte Carlo
... All of us were now getting very behind on our washing so we set off to try and find a laundromat and explore the coastal city. We return to the ancestral manse
... up on a branch of the lemon tree so that it contained a blossom, which grew into a lemon within the bottle. When it was ripe, I cut the stem of the lemon, untied the bottle, and filled it with vodka. We still have it. During its decade-long marination the lemon has become somewhat bleached out, and the vodka has acquired a strong yellow tint. The passage of time can be marked in so many ways.

Oh La La....it's so Nice in the French Riveria
... on the coach and a quick stop at a perfume factory where we had a test of 8 bottles of cream and had to match them to pictures such as lavender, coffee etc. I was the only one who got them all right and the lady doing the tour suggested I might become the next nose as the people developing the perfumes are called, then she went on to say that they cannot drink any alcohol or eat spicy food, so maybe not such a great job after all.
Got to our hotel in Nice by 6.30 so a long day ...
We Conclude our Conference, & travel back to Nice
... blew a front tire - I saw bits of rubber flying into the air as we smelled it burn and disintegrate. The driver pulled to the side of the highway and we got out, and patiently waited until our replacement bus arrived - not too long.
Once we arrived at the Nice Airport, our intrepid group split up and went our different ways, and I grabbed a taxi to take me to the hotel I would stay at next - overlooking the Baie des Anges.
