... I headed to the conference. We met for lunch at Restaurant Davia, where we saw the old lady that runs the place gobble up a piece of bread that we had left in the bread basket after lunch. We got a kick out of that. We both had moules frites (mussels and fries) and it was great.

In the afternoon I went to some more conference talks and sessions, and Dad had a break at the hotel and went outside to do some people watching from a bench near the hotel ...

This morning I enjoyed a small sleep in before heading out to see the views from the Old Chateau. I finally got a ham and cheese croissant for breakfast :D We checked out the markets where there was heaps of fresh produce, meat and dairy. ... to say no. They were so disappointed they came back twice to try for the sale. We finally got back to the bus and more sellers tried for a sale - they must do ok or they wouldn't keep trying. On to Monaco via the beautiful coast road. Fantastic views of the Mediterranean Sea and Genova. Lots of short tunnels too. Monaco is only 2.5 km in size so we were suddenly in the municipality with nearly the only indication being the signs changed colour from the Italian white on green ...
