8 Cherry Street Jeffreys Bay, Eastern Cape, South Africa
Onto jeffreys bay a couple of hours drive from our lovely Rocky Road! We stopped en-route for a spot of lunch at the only available service.. Wimpy :-o! Those who know me will be aware I contracted salmonella in Africa last time I had a wimpy so for me this was truly a terrifying prospect! I thought my resulting chicken burger looked a touch raw in parts, but I ate most of it and bypassed a small bit that looked ...
Jeffreys Bay, Eastern Cape, South Africa monning... waterfalls. It was super cool. There were 8 zip lines in total...and it took us approximately an hour and half to do them all. The longest zip line was 216 feet long. Some of them you were able to stop half way down the zip to look at the waterfalls. One of the zip lines you came so close to the waterfalls you got wet from the mist. It was super cool!
After being at African Dawn for a week or so, we weren't too happy with all the birds and the ...
... with a note. Brittany called her later that day from the beach to make sure she got the money. “Peggy” answered the phone.
Brittany: Did you get the money I left you on the nightstand?
“Peggy”: What are you talking about?
Brittany: The money from last night
“Peggy”: Who is this?
Brittany: It’s Brittany, thanks for last night, I left money on your nightstand next to your bed
“Peggy” ...
... Zeitgruenden was auslassen musste...
Jeffreys Bay, South Africa brisko... to a very eccentric meal at a local permaculture settlement. Today we made a trip to Port Elizabeth to meet with some people - boy is the Eastern Cape different from the Western Cape. As one of our contacts in Cape Town put it, the Eastern Cape is like the "Wild Wild West." Everything here is a little less developed - from roads to ...
Jeffreys Bay, Eastern Cape, South Africa aldemoye... start position where Oran was waiting patiently. Oran was a man mountain. He had the height of Peter Crouch, the build of a grizzly bear and the flowing blonde locks of Jason Donovan. Put in the attire of Crocodile Dundee and you have a pretty good idea. His voice was a hybrid of Dot Cotton and Kevin Pieterson, the cigarettes contributed to sounding like the Eastender and KP was the only famous South African I could think of. You get the picture. Things started to improve and we ...
Jeffreys Bay, South Africa petewaters... that I was rubbish at it and also that I kept flicking him with water!! ha ha). We chilled out by the pool, had lunch, chilled out all afternoon.......soooooo lazy!! Watched the rugby in the bar in the evening - after the match everyone drank way too many 'springbok's' (shots) and went bonkers - obviously all the South Africans were pretty happy about the result so it turned into a really fun and crazy evening.
Jeffreys Bay, South Africa cat2222... the way to go. However, "rock attack" sounds less cool than "shark attack" and typing is more difficult. Anyway, Mossel Bay was my first stop after Cape Town and I can safely advise not to go there, it's not worth it! However, Pletternberg Bay was beautiful, there I sea-kayaked to watch whales (southern right whales) and we ended u tailing a mother as she chilled out in the bay for 2 hours. I also learnt to surf there, with Tinnis, a one-on-one lesson from the best surfer in ...
Jeffreys Bay, South Africa matt.j.howard... J-Bay also has a great selection of surf schools and we managed to take a 3 hour lesson. By the end of the lesson, both of us were able to catch a wave, stand up, and ride it for at least 5 or 6 seconds without looking completely awkward. It was a great morning, but surfing is WAY too much work! Give us a tobaggan and let gravity do the work! All in all, J-bay was a great paradise. It was our last destination on the Indian Ocean coastline before heading to Cape Town.
