Not such an early start, as we weren't due in our lesson until 10am, but went a bit early to figure out where things were. Started off being split into different abilities, and Jo and I were both in the "can snow-plough, but not very well" group. Had a two hour lesson first off, most of which was splitting the group, and then lots of snow plough...

Finally made it to Arinsal! Checked into our Hotel - the Micolau, which is about 50m from the gondola, and opposite the hire shop, so good positioning! Super friendly staff as well.
First things first, and over the road to St Moritz, to get boots, ski's and sticks for the week, then wandering around for a bit in the bottom of the baseme...
Thursday and Friday, our last two days in Puigcerda, the kids elected to take up snow boarding! Mina had asked Emi for a snow boarding lesson for Christmas, which immediately converted into a kids' group lesson, taught by Emi's friend and expert snow boarder Arnou. On Friday, even Bill got into the act, strapping on a snow board for the first ti...

Nice and beautiful road trip from Barcelona to Andorra.
by the way....Kasper is a very good driver.
Was a bit surprised how big the shopping centre of Andorra was, beyond my expectations. Huge shopping malls everywhere. Very nice restaurants and already have my favorite, Don Dennis with its nice fresh fish..hmmmm.

Today was my last full day in Andorra. There wasn't a huge amount to do. It wasn't snowing, but the wind was so fierce that it seemed like a sand storm made out of snow. I had a great time watching a group of cows grazing in snow up to their stomachs. Other than that I had a walk around town and spent about an hour at a bar having a beer and wa...

After a long night on a surprisingly jam packed night train, I arrived at a train station about 1km from the Andorra border. I was slightly worried about my transportation from the train station at l'Hospitalet to my destination 26km into Andorra. The cryptic information information I was able to find on the web about buses told me that th...
I woke up at about half past five and pulled myself from my bed- half five really is far too early after a night on the town. After getting massively lost in the corridors of the Centric Hostel (painting all the doors the same colour was a cruel trick) I eventually stumbled down to the desk and checked out. About ten minutes later I got to the b...
Andorra la vella, Andorra englishanddrunkWe come to Andorra. "El pais dels Pirineus" (The country of the Pyrenees) goes its motto in the local Catalonian tongue. We come to the little capital town, Andorra la Vella. Its crowded streets are full of angry cars and pedestrian tourists and the most modern commerce selling electronics and cell-phones and jewelry and perfume and cigarettes a...
Andorra la Vella, Andorra modernoddyseusIt is getting all snowy in Toulouse so we headed to the Pyrenees to see the mountains all glittery and white in Andorra. The country is so little and cute! We drove across it in half an hour, and it would have taken less time but the mountains are icy. They all speak Catalan here so we are totally lost! I was just getting to grips with French. E...
Andorra la Vella, Andorra angela_louiseWe were due to meet friends in Pasa de la Casa, Andorra for some Christmas skiing. Andorra, for those that have never heard of it, is a tiny country - around the size of London - nestled high up in the Pyrenees between France and Spain. Actually it is not so much a country as an "independent democratic parliamentary co-principality" but I think ...
