Uberlingen Ferienappartements Überlingen

... Velo auf die Meiersalp gefahren und habe dort gecampt. Die Nacht war Sternenklar und die Temperaturen auch noch relativ hoch (ca. 5 Grad Celsius). Es wird deshalb bestimmt nicht meine letzte Testfahrt gewesen sein.

What nobody (really) thought to be possible, has been done. I arrive at 17:00h at the same place, where I started this journey the 30.4.2006 (click here) with the same vehicle, the same rider and complete the full scale world trip across all 5 continents happiest and well ...

... quick sites and then jumped back to Switzerland, crossed through Austria for an hour or so, and bam, were back in Germany, hehe....

Now I'm at Sebastian's brother's house, where we will go to sleep soon and visit München tomorrow...

Our next stop was St Gallen, home of a beautiful abbey with a medieval library and neighbouring by a charming Old Town. We walked around the abbey exterior before everyone went inside, with the exception of Lincoln and I. I have been here before and know it is a very ornate baroque design inside.

... are works of art protruding from the towers, and in front of the cathedral is a beautiful bench with fun creatures wrapping themselves around it.

When we were almost out of time on the meter we made our way back to the car and continued east through Switzerland.

Just a day trip to see this old city. Lots of brightly painted buildings with ornate oriel windows. Most of the windows were carved with scenes or fancy designs, sometimes painted, sometimes both. Lots of fountains and statues. Found a chocolate shop and pigged out.

... to our farm they let the cows into the pasture and then started spontaneously singing. I was amazed. I always associate people who bust out into song as overly joyous. However, on the surface everyone was very serious looking - even when singing! But I know they were really happy - especially if they were fortunate enough to have a cow come home with an extra bell. It was truly a Swiss festival - controlled, well organized and cleaned up the following day.

... Gottlieben, Switzerland. One of Rick's business associates had made reservations for us at the Hotel Drachenburg. Quite a nice place! Our room seemed very French with a bidet and a chaise lounge. We had lunch there and had dinner with Helmut. I don't have the name of the restaurant, but we had possibly the best poached salmon ever!!
