    We only have one full day in Bonifacio, arriving late yesterday afternoon, and leaving tomorrow morning for a couple of days in the northern mountains of Corsica. So today had to be the day we experienced as much as we could. We had checked out boat tours (no name tags, no numbered stickers on our shirts!!) to get have a look at Bonifacio from the water.     ... lunch today. On the way to to the ferry we had planned to stop to see the other Nuraghic ruins that we didn't see the other day, These were supposed to be bigger and better, and they didn't disappoint. The most impressive was a village covering 4 hectares. The biggest most complete tower was the central meeting area for the village and the chiefs dig's. These are round houses 2 stories tall made completely of stones. ...

    Within minutes of arriving on the French Island of Corsica, we noticed a big difference from Italy. The roads are organised, sign posted and in comparison to Sicily the cars are massive...and newer. There is hardly any rubbish by the side of the roads (& there are even recycling bins). First hand proof that there are some benefits to paying taxes.... and less organised crime over the centuries probably helps as well! It's now the last week of ...

    ... and olives. I was getting the olives from the .ittle man at the deli counter and Jeff was getting a cheese from the fridge area. He just looked at Jeff and wa e his hand down with a NOH! and suggested he get his cheese, which we did.

    ... missed the scenic route. Lucky for Graham because we did some kilometers on similar road and it was a nightmare. Road about 5 metres wide and we meet a bloody etsa like truck. Jeff had to get out and direct graham back down the road to an area where the truck could pass.
    Campervans galore - should not be allowed on this sort of road. Rocky cliffs jutting out, idiot bike riders and just your regular idiot european driver. I don't know how ...
