Delicacies of Sartene

A travel blog entry by nelmary on Jul 21, 2014

We are docked in Porto-Vecchio for the day. As we approach this town, we can see remains of the 16th century citadel which was originally built by the Genoese. During WWII (1943), after we recaptured Corsica from the Germans, we had 14 airfields on this island.

Our first stop was Cala Marilou, perhaps the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen. I’m sure the pictures we have taken do not do it justice! There Jackson and Abby both went through a scuba diving lesson, where they learned diving hand signals and talked about what to expect under ...

... the kids wandered around some more. We went to our last dinner and were sad to say goodbye to oksana and Franklin, our waitstaff team. I of course was teary- I hate the last night of the cruise!! Kurt enjoyed having lobster tail, he said it was the best thing he'd ever eaten! We then went to pin trade with the officers, thanks to someone in our fish extender group who gave us trading pins! We had a really awesome group!! ...
