... we decide to check out the Mandarin House Chinese restaurant just across the road. A good decision as it turned out to be lovely, Pete had asparagus chicken which was asparagus wrapped in chicken in a spicy brown sauce, Jayne had orange chicken which was tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful as we have found in most places we have been.

Back to the hotel to finish packing ready for the morning.

Today is my last ride on the Pacific Coast Route. I will be going to Imperial Beach and to Border Field State Park to a lovely fence. I had to have a border patrol officer take my picture. It did not have the same warm feeling as in Canada's Peace Arch Park. Now I have to ride back to San Clemente to meet Nina before the ...

... to have about Rod stewart. No joke, patricia Manterola started out saying how she had been dragged on stage with him when she was young and has his jacket. Next minute someone else says 'Oh rod stewart, yes I saw him in los Angeles a couple of years ago, nice guy' Then Noni, goes 'oh yeah, I knew John his cousin!' I was so tempted to make up a story! So quite a surreal day, especially when they brought out a cake and everyone sang happy birthday to me!
