Our arrival at the Port of San Diego brought to an end the first segment of our San Diego to Seattle cruise. I had been anticipating this day for the reason that our son, Christopher, had managed to get me an appointment at the Apple Store in Fashion Valley Mall just minutes from downtown. ... were nothing spectacular but it was a great accomplishment. At the visitors center there were pictures of huge beehives with warnings to stay clear of them. Once in the cave you could see the bees starting to build the hives but they were only about the size of a football at this time. There was one amazing bee hive on the ceiling of the cave that looked like the mothership. Bees were coming out of the dripping honey/wax formations and heading off to ...

... some of the rocks. One protected cove allowed snorkeling, and unfortunately, the snorkelers were trying to get too close to the sealions and scared some of them off. The sealions seem to be relatively used to people around them, as there were paddle boarders, kyakers and even divers all taking advantage of the area.

We took our time heading back along the coast, and arrived back in time for a night time ...

... of kindergarten kids into Africa where we saw the big cats and had a chuckles at the warning sign for the "spray range" of the lions ( apparently 7-10 feet) the jaguar was an impressive looking animal. The elephants seemed much happier than the ones in perth and the cage they have their bath in looks like something from Jurassic park like where you might keep a velociraptor.
