Our trip to Milano got a late start--not our fault. The high speed train, Frecciarossa, was delayed over an hour due to some political rumblings/rallies in Bologna.

... we received a number of complimentary items which surprised me! Firstly a range of about 8 different small entries came out, the family ordered starters, (which I decided not to as I knew I would not be able to fit all the food in!) Between the starters and mains another round of complimentary food items such as fresh breads came out. Then came the mains, I ordered a Black truffle, egg and something or other cheese fettuccini which was so full of flavour!
... we didn't miss it! Anyways, following this we went to the stunning Colleoni chapel but were only able to get access to a small portion of it! It was amazing nonetheless. From here, the three of us made our way to the Civic tower, which by the way charges the same price for the stairs and the elevator - unlike the Duomo in Milan. At the very top of the tower, beneath the bells you get to stand and look out over the city on all sides. I could have stayed up there ...
... coming for one drink. He brought out nuts and snacks, then went back behind the counter and whipped up some fresh sandwiches! That night we ended up going for Chinese and it ended up being extremely good. We ordered nearly everything on the menu, with the dishes coming out in small helpings and us all sharing, have a bit of everything. It was super cheap and super good. Surprisingly fresh and not greasy. The little waitresses didn't really speak English so it was pretty funny, ...
