    ... getting close to plan ”B”. We were supposed to be on the early AM train tomorrow morning to Kyiv but now we have to wait until noon when the next passport delivery comes in and hope there may be an evening train to Kyiv. Luda is still confident the Embassy will be able to finish Katya’s passport in time before our departure on Thursday and so are we. So we may stay another night in Donetsk. So what, not ...

    ... Baba and Babtsi HOMEMADE pyrohy, instead of ones from the store. Marco and Katya had a great time blowing bubbles outside today, as well as popcorn and Russian movie night. They are also starting to jell as brother and sister – both in playful fun and good, old sibling spats! On the document side of things, we have her SIN number and birth certificate already!

    ... Russian here – who knows??) All the children had huge bouquets of flowers that they gave to their teachers. The new grade one class and Katya’s group (Kindergarten type class) were given little packages with school supplies by the older students.     ... a break so that the judge could make her decision. The 35 minute break turned into an hour and 20 minutes, which is so typical here. She finally came back and read us the court decree, granting Katya to be our daughter! Hurray!!! It’s so sad that the judge is terminally ill, because she seems like such a lovely caring lady with a wonderful heart. We are so glad she took the time to take our court case.
