      ... market, but we only had one night there, barely enough time to enjoy the atmosphere. Compared to other markets and such, we found shopping was better in Innsbruck compared to Munich. Swarovski crystal originated here and so that was also a big shopping draw. Their most recent orb for Christmas is exquisite!

      ... since September and won't reopen until May so the tour groups had to get there crystal fix at the store in Innsbruck. It is really quite a large store with some magnificent pieces.

      Innsbruck looks so different with the market. I completely missed the Golden Roof the first day we were walking around. It changes the context of the square so much.

      We we really enjoyed our stay in Innsbruck and now we are off to Salzburg.

      ... than the tunnels the trip was uneventful til we got to Innsbruck. The Altstadt (old town) christmasmarket had started on the weekend. Our hotel was on the christmasmarket street. After a couple of misses and drive bys we finally pulled into the market, found the hotel and the receptionist told John where the parking was and that he needed to do a U turn and get off the street right away! The car is parked until we leave on Thursday.

      considering it was temp and must have cost millions to construct. I can just
      imagine them trying to construct this in Britain as a temporary measure. It
      would take them 20 years to build, never mind the cost of the project.

      ... being able to try new foods we just wanted to have some simple food that we could throw together and it wouldn't cost a whole lot. We grabbed some pasta and had a nice and filling dinner. The rest of the night consisted of flipping through the channels that were all in German, attempting to figure out how the heater worked (which it kinda didn't) and attempting to keep warm underneath the blankets and layers we were sleeping in!
