Tonight we are staying outside of Aalborg. We travelled to Skagen which is located at the northern tip of the Jutland peninsula. It is a major shipping centre and fishing town. During the summer it is also a tourist town. Very quaint houses - likely many are vacation rentals. Then we headed back south to Aalborg where we will stay overnight before taking the ferry to Sweden tomorrow ...

... full of coffee cups, cokes and red bulls. Second sleep in the car in the car next to a little pond round the back of a hotel and had my first experience of a not fully dark night as I looked towards the North and my destination the next morning. Slept that night full of anticipation for having finished with the boring driving and looking forward to Norway and beyond.

European market where different countries present their typical foods – I think we have the same market some weeks during the summer in Leuven as well – and we had to run to cover under a bridge from the rain.

Around 6.00 pm we drove to the terminal to move from one queue to the next to finally get

I absolutely adore Aalborg! It is not a tourist part of Denmark by any means but it is wonderful. The people are so lovely and friendly, it is very safe and clean, the night life is great, it is beautiful and the food!...... I don't think the food gets any better than it does in Denmark!

I have been here twice already but plan on going many more times and hope, one day to go on a more permanent basis :-)
