Up early to head south to the port at Kristiansand to catch the ferry to Denmark. We have a 150 kms trip with the first 70km being along shores of Lake Nisser.The sun is shining and predicted top is 25 degrees. Perfect day. A beautiful morning, blue skies and warm. We had to arrive 2.5 hrs before our 11.30 sailing and drove into the port at 8.45 to be greeted by what looked like a shambles. Mhomes, cars, mbikes, were shuffled off to a sand parking lot which vehicles facing all directions. Gradually we were filtered out towards another queue at checkin. 160 miles brings us to Hirtshals in northern Jutland. As we drove north there was less and less traffic and the population centres are small. Some large lorries making their ways to the ferries for Iceland and Norway. Driving around plenty of motorhomes around waiting for the Iceland ferry. Our campsite is about a mile from a long beach. We watched some guys launching a ski boat through the surf. They dropped the boat and trailer into the water, drove the boat off the trailer and simply left the trailer in the water whilst they headed out to sea. Very strange……glad it’s not my tailer.

Apparently the harbour trust do not want pleasure boats in the harbour so they do all they can to make life difficult.
