Again it spotted with rain overnight, disturbing our sleep as we (Julie) rushed to close hatches but again, this morning, it was a lovely day and indeed, it stayed that way all day. In fact, it was a classic summer's day, warm, sunny and with a gentle wind. Perfect.

We had less than 20 miles to do today and as such there was no hurry, so we decided to aim for the 10:00 bridge opening slot; 09:00 being too early and 11:00 well, that would be ...

Today was obviously the start of a university break as a large truck of very loud students dressed as sailors, swigging beers and singing were riding around the streets. While in Sweden we saw a similar end of year celebration. It was harmless fun which appears ...

Smyril Line

A beautiful morning, blue skies and warm. We had to arrive 2.5 hrs before our 11.30 sailing and drove into the port at 8.45 to be greeted by what looked like a shambles. Mhomes, cars, mbikes, were shuffled off to a sand parking lot which vehicles facing all directions. Gradually we were filtered out towards another queue at checkin. Here we learnt that passengers have to leave the vehicles prior to embarkation ...
