... She confirmed it was a shorter route, and said no one had ever come that way before. I wonder why? She also advised that the very private coastal property I slunk through was owned by a very private author, the one who writes the Tinker Tailor spy novels (John Le Carre I think) and suggested it was fortunate indeed he didn't spot me.

Had a pleasant but melancholy dinner down at the very friendly local pub with my host and hostess. I had much ...

Well before I reached Sennen Cove I had my first distant views of Lands End, the most westerly point in both Cornwall and England. Frankly, I feel two weeks of this coastal walk is probably too much. I've now completed about 90 miles (150 kms) and just two days and 17 miles to go.

The scenery was more rugged than previously and keeping with this the track was very rocky in parts even requiring some boulder scrambling. I had to therefore keep my eyes on my feet much of the way.

On Monday 8th June I hiked 6 miles from St Ives to Zennor and today, Tuesday 9th June I did the 8 miles on to Pendeen. Today's track wasn't ...

    Mum's 70th Birthday!!

A travel blog entry by tracyrich on Jun 08, 2015

Rich, Tracy and Anne were all up early this morning as they had loads to get sorted for breakfast. Anne went to Asda early to get the last few things we needed for the table. The dining room was decked out with all sorted of Happy Birthday banners and balloons and the table was set then the kitchen became the focal point as we prepared breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bacon, tomatoes, Tracy's lovely pancakes, toast and a huge bowl to mixed ...
