Negotiating our way from the ninth floor at the back of the ship to the 5 floor at the front of the ship to attend the "Cyberspace, the Internet, and the Emerging Future" lecture was no easy matter. Back in the room, Lee changed to go to the gym and I headed for the bed. At noon, the captain gave us his update. The waves continue to be 20 to 26-feet but the winds are down to 40 knots. We began our day by packing up one day's worth of vacationing which really is a lot more than one might think! Since we wanted to be at the Port fairly early we decided to catch an early breakfast at the food court at Port Orleans Riverside. Susan and I both got yogurt parfaits while Brittany and Josh opted for a hot protein laden breakfast. It was a beautiful morning so after breakfast we strolled the grounds of the resort a bit before packing ...

Today was a long day for us. We drove to Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne. On the campus are several sites I selected for us to see. First stop was the Botanical Gardens. There is a self guided tour of more than 200 palms, bamboos, and other rare and common botanical specimens. We saw the original 1883 school house of Melbourne which had been moved to these grounds.
