After a 7 hour bus journey, I arrived and met up with Tim. I was staying at Club Nena, but the Tennis and players were at the Ali Bey next door, and once I'd negotiated the security I spent most of my time at Ali Bay with Tim and the Irish team, returning to Nena to sleep..

We arrived in Alanya at a small otogar. After confirming with 3 or 4 bus men which bus we were supposed to be going on to get to the castle, we finally got on the bus that was going up to the castle. Through the streets and up up up we went. From the window, we could see the sparkling sea and a harbor, both of which never ceases ...

Day 6 - Along the southern Turkish coast

What an absolute fabulous drive. After spending a nice night in Iskenderun, we head off along the south coast of Turkey. I was already informed that this is not the fastest route across Turkey, but scenic.

They were right. Unbelievable mountainous coastline and a sunny day can make a great day. Only drawbacks are that in some sections there is some construction as they are putting in tunnels and wider lanes, etc; that...and ...
