When I went to leave the previous site at El Berro, all the people I had made friends with lined up and waved me off, leaving me very sad that I was going, however there is always something round the next corner, and after I had crawled round the many corners on the road out of the mountains, it was time to head south. ... little village in a spectacular location, but it has a charity shop (Action for Animals) where we were able to donate a pile of jigsaws we’d finished and buy some replacements! Despite blue skies and sunshine the temperature in Competa, at nearly 2,000 feet, was bitter. The lady in the charity shop said it was the coldest she’d ever known it.

Just moved along the coast a hours drive to a lovely little town of Isleta del Moro with the Isleta del Moro Arráez just off the coast. Arrived mid afternoon and after lunch walked around the small town, fortunately enough it was small so ended in a bar for a glass of Vino Tinto Now turned grey and even seen a dark cloud and a flash of lightening, chicken&fresh basil dinner cooking and a bottle of red opened, thank god for grey ...

... I thought the site looked OK but Rob refused to stay there. Even though he had been driving for hours he insisted on going on to a previous site at Los Escullos, nr Cabo de Gato.

Today we went inland to 'Texas Hollywood', Fort Bravo!!Set in the fantastical Tabernas Desert and mountain ranges. A vast empty lunar landscape, where many of the 60's Spaghetti westerns were filmed and where low budget westerns, adverts and music videos are now shot. Fort Bravo is a dusty, old filmset cowboy place, with a mexican village, native american reserve and wild west town in one.
