Not directly in city center, but the bus stops right in front of the hotel. We had reasonable rates, for one night's stay. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had the double room, and one room was very small, but the other was average, at least. The bathrooms were small, but worked properly, so how much space do you need? The hotel was very clean. We had the breakfast and thought it was 8 euros per person well spent. We would stay here again.

The CK Shuttle dropped us at the hotel door in time for dinner, after a drive through back roads of Bohemia to Linz, and then the highway to Salzburg. A good bit of rain on the highway diminished the view of the mountains along the way. We walked to dinner at an Italian place a couple of blocks from the hotel after re-stocking our wallets at the …

We took a trip to Salzburg while the girls were here over Christmas Vacation. It was a first visit for all of us and a place we would be very happy to visit again. But that seems to be the consensus of everyone, when we told them we were going there, everyone agreed it was a good idea.
It's a lovely city that has finally embraced the fact that …

It frreakin' SNOWED today. I was expecting a day of sunshine but I only got a 20 second preview of blue sky this morning outside of town on the way to Salzburg Zoo. Check out the first pic to see what I thought was the unveiling of the mountains I've been longing to see. But instead I got the beauty of snow for a few hours. It was only light, but so happy I got to see it (and it was the first snow of the season).

... put together your own personal picnic to take back to your table in your beer hall and have soakage as you drink... all very well done. Stiegl was my other brewery visit, as they advertise a tour of their main brewery, on of the largest in the country. It was more a tour of the beer museum than the plant itself, but was worth a visit and included 3 free beers, one of which was a very yummy Christmas honey brew... mmmm!

      On my final day ...

Finally made it to the place I've most been looking forward to seeing and its a pretty special place. My dreams had involved a bit of snow, but alas, not to be. I saw some on the mountains today during the Sound of Music tour when we went to Mondsee to see the chapel where Maria and the captain were married. Side note: the travel guide complemented me in front of everyone for my beautiful ...
