Not directly in city center, but the bus stops right in front of the hotel. We had reasonable rates, for one night's stay. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had the double room, and one room was very small, but the other was average, at least. The bathrooms were small, but worked properly, so how much space do you need? The hotel was very clean. We had the breakfast and thought it was 8 euros per person well spent. We would stay here again.

The CK Shuttle dropped us at the hotel door in time for dinner, after a drive through back roads of Bohemia to Linz, and then the highway to Salzburg. A good bit of rain on the highway diminished the view of the mountains along the way. We walked to dinner at an Italian place a couple of blocks from the hotel after re-stocking our wallets at the …

We took a trip to Salzburg while the girls were here over Christmas Vacation. It was a first visit for all of us and a place we would be very happy to visit again. But that seems to be the consensus of everyone, when we told them we were going there, everyone agreed it was a good idea.
It's a lovely city that has finally embraced the fact that …

... We returned to the hotel to get ready for an early departure the next morning. We enjoyed Salzburg, but it's unlikely we'll revisit, because once you've seen the town, there's not much else to see. The place is still full of tourists and I can't imagine what the place would be like during the Salzburg festival. Our one regret was not attending a performance of the Marionette theatre. They had closed down two days earlier to begin their three month tour of the USA and ...

    Salzburg to Munich

... different outfits. There was a midway, lots of tents selling brautwurst, nutella crepes and spiced nuts, and massive beer tents. This is where Oktoberfest might win as while Calgary has one massive beer tent Munich has 14 plus many smaller beer tents! We decided not to attempt entering a beer tent that evening as I felt we were not appropriately garbed. So we headed home and slipped into slumber dreaming of our epic outfit ...

... for me. The room stank of cigarettes so we changed room which was good. Dinner was provided and nice schnitzel however I was so tired, I was falling asleep. Despite this, I went down to the pool and sauna area and that was really nice, running laps and actually doing exercise was really really nice. The sauna was great, however when I came out, it looked like i had been swimming, when I hadn't been- a touch ...
