... with the residents looking happy and with 100's of restaurants on offer. After checking in we walked to the town square where a folk band was playing alongside a night market - we sat in a bar overlooking it all and were impressed. I guess I was expecting third world type conditions.

Yesterday we had the briefing for my next 2 week tour, this time of Northern Slovenia and Croatia and the Italian Alps. On Wednesday we walked over to the train station to see how much trouble it would be to take a train to Ljubljana. The guy at the station was super friendly and helpful (as per usual it seems in Slovenia) - so I may venture off there at some point. Last full day in Varazdin
The forecast was threatening so we had
saved up our galleries and museums for today. It was fine starting
out so we went to the bus station to get tickets for tomorrow first.
We are finding that quite a few of the bus times listed on the
internet schedules don't actually exist when you turn up so getting
tickets in advance will hopefully avoid any last minute nasty
