      We are enjoying the sun.

We have parked in a secure site with electricity €4 per night, which is fantastic value.

We decided to stay on until Monday when the township are having a religious ceremony to bless the fishing boats, followed by local dancing. This got the whole community out and a procession of clergy and followers walked from the church to the port. We joined in too. The people are so religious ...

... we stayed two years ago and ended up dying in Venezuela a couple of years latter. He was the president of 4 different countries in Latin America at one time or another and his vision was to unify all of South America. This is Monchique. 820m above the plains of the Algrave.
Our GPS took us up a single lane intrepid local road. A bit scary at times. Should have known better and stay on the beaten track. We got there unscathed and meeting the only vehicle on the road at a very convenient point. Otherwise we might have uncorked a cork tree. It was a bit like a James Bond drive but in a campervan, no guns involved. Phew.. Great view.

It's raining in Algarve, all is good

A travel blog entry by plimmerton on Nov 26, 2014

My new friends Jean Pierre and Christina are a delight. They spent time on the map explaining camping in Morocco highlights, things to be wary of etc. All valuable information. We leave for Lagos. It has started to rain so head for a camp with electricity and facilities. Gayle gets a hair ...
