Lost and Found

... Luke stayed behind with him, thinking that he wasn't going to make it to the top. I took off and tried to find Shorty and when I finally did I was amazed at just how far up he had managed to go. He was at the top of one set of stairs sprawled out over the railing. He had no water and when he saw me I thought I was the bearer of liquid gold. I had no water on me - Luke had it all. This seemed to not go over to well and he stayed where he was in anticipation of Luke's arrival ...

Wulingyuan Scenic Park

I have returned from Wulingyuan Scenic Reserve (Zhangjiajie Park). It was really an incredible place and I was thankful that the weather was really nice. Zhangjiajie is known for it's pillar-like limestone formations. These columns of stone rise out of the valleys and are capped with trees and other vegetation. When you enter the park you see the large towering formations on either side of you and several different rivers flow through the canyons ...

Hard Sleeper to Zhangjiajie

I am in Zhangjiajie today, it is overcast, and has been raining off and on. I arrived here this morning via overnight train. I rode "hard sleeper" this time which was a first. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the different traveling classes on Chinese trains, a hard sleeper means you get a bed but it is in the same compartment as 5 other beds. Depending on how much you pay (or how early you book your ticket) you can choose between the ...

... until sidetracked). Of course the later, dispite my legs needing a break from steps. Climbing these mossy stairs I estimated I must have encounter several thousands steps over 2 days. And then there were cows! I'm not going to argue with an angry mother 4 times the weight of me. Conceding, I turned back and headed to the village. When I hit the road I thought left, but this was a perfect time to confirm this with my iFriend. He got out his iCompass and ...

Andrew is poorly and has caught a bug, commonly known as delhi belly... anyway its not nice and so we return back to the hotel for some much needed R&R. ... buildings look interesting at night with lights, tv screens. Mei Lee is coming along in leaps and bounds. She has even kissed on all on the cheek. It is so sweet, she gently places her lips on your cheek and then a tiny kiss. She kissed Vick for the first time this morning. She loves the pool, and is getting gamer each time she goes in. She is eating like a horse so hopefully will put on weight soon. She is ...

... good but the rest of Xi'an was pretty dull and we ended up spending a couple of afternnons in Starbucks. One of the guys who worked there took a bit of a fancy to me and even rushed out to give me his email when we left so Dean had better watch his back!

The Three Gorges !!

Hey We boarded the ship on the 8th in Chongqing and set sail on the 9th. The first day we pasted loads of cities and say the efforts to move everything up 100m from the waters edge and the last entry has move on that. On the morning of the 10th we started into the first of the Three Gorges ...

Thankfully Stuck in Yichang

We'd hatched another plan to get out of dodge as soon as we'd arrived, but we were scuppered by the pesky Chinese buying all the tickets out of Yichang before we had a chance to buy them. We'd arrived on a Friday morning, and to get to the place we wanted to next visit would mean leaving on Monday evening, I think this is way too long in a place like this. In the end we had to settle for a night bus that left on the Saturday evening to Changsha ...
